1. Nassau Hall
When the American Revolutionary War erupted, this building suffered severe damage, especially during the Battle of Princeton in 1777. This historic edifice housed the entire American government in 1783. A metal roofing system, however, was installed after a fire in 1802.
2. Roswell Mansion
This stately home in Virginia rivaled the governor’s palace in size and luxury. It also became a popular venue for grand balls and other gatherings during its time. A lead roofing system covered the residence, which stood from 1725 to 1916.
