The Lowdown on Double-Pane Window Discoloration
Double-pane windows come with several unique advantages. First, ENERGY STAR considers double glazing a standard for window energy efficiency; which is why its approved products have at least two panes. Second, a two-pane configuration allows the use of an insulating gas, which contributes to thermal heat transfer reduction and noise abatement. Third, they offer superior security compared to single-pane units, for they have more than one piece of glass.
